Friday's Letters #13

Dear Friday, As always, I am happy to see you. This week has brought me a bit of a cold and I am not loving it. I'm glad I have a couple days to recoup before having to deal with my students again. Dear Cold, Go away. No one wants you here. I'm pretty sure Matt is tired of hearing me blow my nose every few minutes during the night.

Dear McDelivery System, This is probably the coolest thing about Korea... okay probably not. You can get McDonalds delivered to your house! I remember when I was in college I had a friend that lived in Korea and she told me about this, and ever since then I couldn't wait to be able to do it. What's even more amazing is that we did it despite the fact we have no Korean language skills! I know we aren't going to do this every day or even once a week, but it's pretty exciting.

Dear Snail Mail Package, You were such a great surprise on Wednesday. I came into the teacher's room after one of my classes and there you were- just waiting for me. This month I was paired up with Ellyn over at Salmon and Leggings. It was so great getting to know Ellyn this month. She is such a sweet woman. And I am loving this postcard from Malaysia.

Dear Mom and Dad Ho, Thank you so much for sending Matt's winter clothes. And for this beautiful little Christmas tree. We love it! It adds the perfect touch to our little apartment. Every night when we get home from work we rush to turn it on. Dear Little Christmas Tree, We really do love you, but we are more excited that Thanksgiving is coming up. Dear Thanksgiving, We can't wait to celebrate you here in Korea. While I am going to miss being with family, especially without my cohort of Thanksgiving love- Abuela, I am happy we are here. We have already planned our menu and are looking at ovens so we can cook a chicken. Sorry no Turkeys this year- they are way to big.

Dear Weekend, I am looking forward to exploring a little more of Korea, so thank you for being here.

Love, Alex

  1. Oh no! Colds are NO fun! I'm such a baby when it comes to being sick.

Haha, I love the McDelivery! So funny...I'm wondering if McDonalds actually did that in China and I just didn't realize it. I would like a daily delivery of soft serve ice cream cones at 6:00 pm sharp, please! haha

    1. Saxon, I am too- I hate being sick. The McDelievery was pretty funny. I'm sure China had it- I think it's a city thing.
