Stourhead {Travel Tuesday}

Travel Tuesday is upon us once more, and this week I wanted to journey back to England and share another beautiful place with you guys:

Stourhead Gardens

Stourhead is a 2,650 acre estate that includes a mansion, the village of Stourton, the gardens, farmland, and woodland. I only had the opportunity to see the gardens, and it was well worth the trip. The gardens were designed by Henry Hoare II and were completed between 1741 and 1780.

 {The Temple of Apollo was built in 1765 and was featured in the newest Pride and Prejudice movie. Unfortunately, it was under construction when I was there.}

If you are ever in the Wiltshire area I would recommend taking a stop by the gardens of Stourhead.

Happy Travel Tuesday Y'all!

  1. Wow that is a beautiful place... But then there aren't too many places in the English Countryside that aren't breathtaking!

  2. Beautiful! I love all the beautiful relaxing parks that you can find in the UK...not quite like that here in the states!

    1. Yeah- there are not a lot of sprawling estates you can just wander around in the states. It's even worse here in Korea- I wish there was a big park next to our apartment.

    1. Thanks so much! I am such a fan of P&P- I wish the temple hadn't been closed, but it was still great to be there. Now every time I watch the movie I saw I've been there!

  6. Those are gorgeous pictures. I can see why this area would be used in Pride and Prejudice - it's exactly how I would picture the landscapes around a Jane Austen novel.
