I know I usually post my gratitude 101 link ups on Wednesday, but I really could not get myself to write two posts in one day. So I decided to post my weekly gratitude a bit late, but I guess better late than never right?
For those that are new, this is a weekly post where I link up with the wonderful Erika from Chimerikal and talk about gratitude. If you missed any of my other posts on gratitude feel free to click here.
So days are hard. In fact, some weeks are hard. Sometimes it is hard to see the larger picture and think about how things can get better. I have to admit- this week has been tough.
This week I have struggled with missing my family, having a severe case of sibling guilt, missing the comfort foods of home, and in general just feeling kinda crappy. Being so far away from my comfort zone is starting to get a little hard. I love being here in Korea, but I just wish I could have all my family here with me. I want the best of both of my worlds.
In having my own little pity party, which involved McDonalds, candy corn, chocolate M&Ms, and The Mindy Project, I realized that this moment was a test. A test of whether I could move past my pity party and find the good again. A test of whether I could find some gratitude.

Harry Potter seems to always solve my problems. How right is Professor Dumbledore? Guys I am here to tell you that some days are going to be hard. Somedays we are going to want to give in and stay in our sweat pants and binge eat chocolate like there is no tomorrow. But that usually makes things worse in the long run. I suggest we fight on. We strive to find our gratitude. I know it's hard, but I also know it is possible.
Now, I have not fully gotten out of my funk, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
And to help end this bad week- here are my gratitude moments of the week:
1. I'm so thankful of care packages that come bearing gifts. This week I got two packages in the mail! One included two skirts and a bag of m&ms, and the other was my September Snail Mail from Cat. This one had some great goodies including Kraft Mac and Cheese and Reese's Peanut Butter cups! Seriously, how great is it that I have been that care enough to send care packages!
2. So thankful for my VPN. Watching American t.v. shows makes me unbelievably happy. For real, it's awesome.
3. I'm thankful to all my readers, both old and new. I love reading your comments and see all the page views. I love being able to connect with people all around the world and seeing that I am really not alone.
I'll leave you with a little more Harry Potter inspiration.

Happy Thursday Y'all.
Aaww girl sorry to hear you're having a hard time right now, hope it gets better with time. I couldn't imagine how hard it must be being away from all your family. Carry on and stay strong!
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea. I know next week will be better, but sometimes it's hard being away from everyone.
ReplyDeleteAh, I just read this today! I'm so glad you got your package at a time when you needed it! :)
