Matt and I had a great weekend.
One of our goals this year is to get out more. To enjoy the island while we are here. For the past few months, we have been so overwhelmed with work, school, and internships that we have forgotten to enjoy Hawaii.
Since we don't know how much longer we will be here, we wanted to make sure we leave with no regrets. Sometimes that is hard because we have been here for SO long, and our weeks are SO long. But we have a goal and we are trying to stick to it.
This Saturday we woke up and took a walk to a locale breakfast place called Huiklau Cafe. It was a beautiful day for a walk and an even better day for good breakfast.
Later in the day, we went down the street and spent some time at the beach. It was nice to just lay out our towels and relax. We could only stay a bit because I didn't want to get burned, but it was perfect.
That night we even took in a movie at the theater in town. Matt toughed it out and went with me to see Safe Haven. It was pretty good and a cheap date since we got student prices!
Sunday was spend relaxing, grading papers, and going to church. And it was even better because I didn't have to go to bed early because today is a holiday.
Thanks Mr. Presidents!
Today Matt and I drove around the island and just had a bit of casual fun.
Regardless to say, Matt and I had a great President's Day weekend.
How was yours?
Oh man. I could not possible be more jealous that yall live in HAWAII!!! Sheesh! We'll be lucky if we get to go to the beach this summer. It will be the first time back since summer 2006! Arg!
