Sneak Peak of Angkor Wat

Happy Tuesday Y'all!

Sorry for the silence yesterday. I usually like to get a post out on Monday to start the week off good, but I have to be honest- this trip to Cambodia took a lot out of me. Last weekend was spent catching up on some studying and housework. The blog was put on the back burner this weekend- which I really think is fine.

Anyway- back to today.
We loved Cambodia, and we took a lot of pictures. So many pictures in fact, I am having a hard time working up the courage to sort through them and start organizing. So for today's Travel Tuesday I thought I would just post a few of my favorite pictures of the temples we were able to visit in the Angkor Wat compound.

Matt and I were lucky to see about 12 different sights throughout the compound, and while it made for long days out in the heat- it was an amazing adventure.

So what do you think? Impressive?
To be honest- I love these pictures, but they really don't come close to how amazing it was in person.

I know this was somewhat of a lazy post, but I guess something is better than nothing. My goal is to take you through all the temples we went through and everything else we were able to do, but I think it's going to be a slow going process. Right now I am so overwhelmed with the amount of pictures we took.

I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday, and I hope you enjoyed this mini sneak peak of our trip.

  1. Impressive indeed! I particularly like the picture of Angkor Wat from afar with the lake in the foreground. And I can totally relate to you. When I'm on vacation I have a hard time afterwards figuring out what to post and when to post it too so I mostly just post my favourite pictures of the trip first ;)

    1. Thanks girl! I like that picture as well. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that takes their time posting after a trip. I feel guilty, but I don't want to ever feel burdened by my blog, so I just take my time. Thanks for reading!

  2. That's how I feel every time we come back from a trip. I dread moving the pictures from my camera to computer because I know the sifting through and organizing will take days! I'm looking forward to reading about your trip, though!

    1. Yay! I'm happy you stumbled as well. I'll have to stumble to yours as well. Going to Angkor Wat was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Looking at the pictures I can't believe I got to go. I hope you get there one day!

  5. Those are definitely impressive, sounds like you guys had a good time in Cambodia! It always takes me a few days to get back into the swing of things as well after a trip.

    1. Thanks girl! I really love traveling and seeing all new places, but I could do without the actual plane ride and time change issues that happen- not to mention all the stuff that piles up while you're gone! But I really think it's all worth it. :)

  6. Oh I remember the heat of Cambodia so well! Everyday when we got back from exploring the ruins we would be drenched in sweat and each drink two huge, ice cold water bottles! I loved exploring the temples though [and watching those troublesome monkeys]!

    1. Luckily- I had read how bad the heat would be, so I was somewhat prepared mentally. But really it was hot! I was always torn between wanting to see another temple to wanting to go back to the hotel and jump in the pool.

  8. I've been home for a month since my last adventure and still have hundreds of photos to go through, so trust me you are not alone! I visited Cambodia in 2010 and loved exploring Angkor, especially Bayou temple (I think that's the name for the one with all the faces). Which was your favourite?

    1. I loved Bayon temple- It was by far my favorite temple! I'm glad you liked it as well. Cambodia was never on my top travel list, but I'm so glad we did it.

I love taking photos and having the memories, but I could do without the hassle of organizing them when I get back!
